Reassess your priorities by filling in the “Wheel of Life,” created by The Coaches Training Institute (www.strategic-solutions-coaching.com/wheel-of-life). The Wheel of Life is a great exercise and tool for helping you create more balance, happiness and success in your life as an entrepreneur and take action for making change. Using this tool, you will be able to identify how you’re currently spending your time, as well as reflect and gain some insight into the balance of your life and how satisfied you are in life’s different areas.

Following this self-reflection, you can utilize this exercise to further delve into why your wheel of life looks the way it does now, what you would like your wheel of life to look like in the future, and how you can achieve your goals to reflect the wheel of life you desire. The eight sections in the Wheel of Life represent different aspects of your life.

The eight sections in the Wheel of Life represent different aspects of your life. Seeing the center of the wheel as 1 and the outer edges as 10, rank your level of satisfaction with each life area by drawing a straight or curved line to create a new outer edge. The new perimeter represents the wheel of your life. If this were a real wheel, how bumpy would the ride be?

MAKE YOUR LIFE WORK FOR YOU SCORECARD

  • ​Seeing the center of the wheel as 1 and the outer edges as 10, rank your level of satisfaction with each. 
  • ​Pick three areas in the Wheel of Life that you’d like to rebalance. And commit to three actions (to either remove, add or change something) for each by the end of the week that will help you get closer to a higher level of satisfaction.
  • ​Now that you have assessed your current situation with the “Wheel of Life,” it’s time to make better choices by focusing on the areas where you want more out of life, while letting go of the ones where you want less.

While being an entrepreneur does not require any special personality traits and can be taught, creating a successful business requires clarity, the right mindset, and massive action among other things. The key is to act much more than to plan. Once your entrepreneurial mindset is developed it will become a life skill. To truly become successful in business you will need to master certain principles and practice and repeat these until you develop the essence and mindset of a successful business owner. You will also have to take risks but these will be calculated. While your business will be attached to who you are as an individual, you will realize that it is bigger than yourself as it will affect your community and the world to some extent. That is because your business exists to solve a social problem for the greater good. It exists to give value to your stakeholders as a whole (employees, investors, suppliers, community, etc.). Your role as a business owner is to promote positive and lasting change in the world, equal opportunity, and hope.

To make a profit, and success, and sustain that profitability you will need to solve a major problem for others, make a positive social impact, and provide value to the world. Start by taking massive action to feel emotions, which will help reinforce your understanding. Once you repeat the key business principles I will share with you in this course and once you add the required level of emotion to magnify the principles understanding, these will finally become unconscious and you will act, walk, and talk like a successful business owner without even thinking about it. It will become natural and an integral part of who you are at that point, which will allow you to take your business to new heights.
